The average RN salary in Georgia is $75,040 a year, or $36 an hour. Most ADN programs can be completed within two years and BSN programs take roughly four years to finish. A basic associates degree program consists of 30 credit hours of prerequisite courses in subjects like psychology, biology and statistics. A nursing candidate must then complete 32 credit hours in specific nursing courses. In summary, 62 hours consisting of general education classes and nursing courses are required.
Some examples of accredited online schools that offer RN programs are Georgia Southern University, Georgia State University and Kennesaw State University. Once you obtain your Associates Degree in Nursing from an approved school you must take the NCLEX-RN exam. This exam is the licensing exam required for a nurse in order to practice in any U.S. state.
