You can obtain this goal by getting a 4 year Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree, Associate Degree in Nursing or earning a Nursing diploma. The average RN salary in Michigan is $76,710 a year, or $37 an hour. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program which most health care providers prefer, generally includes the first two years of general education courses and classes such as anatomy, introduction to psychology, general chemistry and nutrition. The last two years are focused on core-curriculum classes including pharmacology, community health, mental health, clinical leadership, nursing and therapeutics. The Associates Degree in Nursing takes two years to complete and typically offers the advantage of college level academic and professional instruction in the classroom and clinical areas.
