How Fast Can I Become a Nurse?

(Part 1 of 3)

In today’s job market one must consider which careers will offer long-term stability and value over time. With AI taking over many industries and job roles, those considering new career paths must consider the future forecast of their chosen profession’s viability. For example, why invest time and money in learning a skill that can easily be replaced by Artificial Intelligence? This leads us in one direction and that is to ask the question: which professions cannot be replaced by AI? Which job roles or functions must always be performed by a human being in a physical manner? Those are the sectors that offer longevity and long-term job stability and healthy employment opportunities.

One of the most obvious career choices which cannot be replaced by AI and will not suffer from lack of demand is the field of nursing. Given the strong demand and lack of supply to meet that demand, many people are considering or committing to this career path. The next question is, how do I go about pursuing a career in nursing and where do I start. How much will it cost? How long will it take? How much money can I expect to earn once I’m licensed and practicing? These are the questions which this article will answer.

For those interested in considering or pursuing a career in nursing the first question they must answer is this: Which type of nurse do I want to become? This answer will determine the time it takes to acquire the necessary education, the approximate cost of their nursing education and the amount of hourly or annual salary they can expect to earn once they become licensed and employed. This article is part 1 of a 3-part series which will be continued in greater detail. For right now we will briefly define the different nursing career options, which are Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) and Registered Nurse (RN).  The next article (Part 2) will address the following details: How long will each nursing license take to obtain? How much Can I expect to earn as a CNA, LPN/LVN and RN? Part 3 will address the specific daily job functions and duties of each type of nurse. To be continued…..
